The North Northumberland Heritage Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Steeped in history, over-run by Castles, Golf Courses and superb walking & cycling country (including 4 long distance walks and the national Cycle route 1 - Coast & Castles).

It is an ideal base from which to explore this hitherto unspoilt “secret kingdom”. The area is heavily represented on the UK History Channel’s Best of British, featuring Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne,  and Alnwick Castle, and to the south, Hadrian’s Wall. 

Our wildlife too attracts constant attention, featuring uniquely twice as the week long location for BBC’s Springwatch, The Farne Islands with its colonies of Puffins, Terns and Grey Seals, and inland last year it was Kielder’s turn.
